Growing up I found confidence in art and long distance running. Art, much like my passion for running and the outdoors, serves as a place where I can lose myself in the immediate present and be open to the simple gifts around me. Sometimes I go weeks or months without painting and I have trouble convincing myself I have time with work and play to pick up the brushes. However when I do, it’s a wonder how it all comes back. When I paint, I feel adequate. When I paint, I feel blessed. When I fill a blank page, it fills me and I find myself wondering how I ever put the brushes down.
I moved into the beauty of Northern Michigan in late 2012. When I am not working as a Family Nurse Practitioner and mom, I find inspiration to paint during early morning runs, hikes with my three dogs, or mountain biking the nearby trails systems with my husband.
